Ms. Zhao (China) – Traumatic brain injury (Female, 41 years old) – 2007

Ms. Zhao is a Chinese 41 years old female patient suffering from brain injury. She met a car crash which caused her brain injury on 28thJanuary 2007, then she was diagnosed as craniocerebral trauma, intracranial hematoma, left scalp laceration, then she received the conservative treatment after been coma for 2 days. She was admitted to our hospital for the stem cell treatment on 13th December, 2007.

She received the stem cells treatment including 2 stem cell injections via lumbar puncture and 1 stem cell implantation via stereotactic brain surgery.

Before the stem cell treatment:
-The flexibility of her left upper limb was poor, she could not lift up her left upper limb highly; the flexibility of her right hand was poor, her fingers could not be opened easily, the movement range of her fingers was limited;
-The muscular tension of her left lower limb was high, she could sit by herself, she couldn’t walk by herself with obvious strephenopodia and tip foot.

After the stem cell treatment:
-The flexibility of her left upper limb is improved obviously, she can raise her left upper limb highly;
-The muscular tension of her left lower limb is improved obviously, she can squat down more easily than before; she can walk 3-5 steps by herself with relieved strephenopodia and tip foot.
