Mrs. Jia is a Chinese 71 years old female patient suffering from stroke. She was admitted to our hospital for the chief complaint of movement and sensation disorder of right limbs for over 2 months. She was diagnosed as the sequela of cerebral infraction (basal ganglia area) and hemiplegia (right side). She received 1st round stem cell treatment on May 2nd, 2013 in our hospital with good efficacy.
She was given a CT of head in local hospital on February 20th, 2013, which showed: soft focus on left basal ganglia.
Before the 1st round stem cell treatment:
-She could not sit up by herself;
-She could stand independently for 1-2 minutes;
-She could walk with walking cane while she could not walk by herself;
-The degree of her squatting down was limited with assistant;
-She could not lift up one of her lower limbs to step on the stool when standing independently.
After the 1st round stem cell treatment (16 days after her discharge):
-She can sit up independently;
-She can stand for a longer period by herself;
-She can walk independently;
-The degree of her squatting down is increased obviously;
-She can lift up one of her lower limbs to step on the stool when standing independently.
