Mr. Liu- T12 Spinal Cord Injury (Male,42 years old)- 2008

Mr. Liu is a Chinese 42 years old male patient suffering from spinal cord injury. He happened to be hurt to his back and waist by crashing heavy object in March, 2008, which led to T12 spinal cord injury. He was given the necessary operations after the accident.

He received 1st round stem cell treatment in our hospital in May, 2008.

Before 1st round stem cell treatment:
- The motor ability of his lower limbs was poor, he could not stand or walk, when he moved needing 2 caregivers’ assistance, he could not sit stably;
- He could not perceive and control his urination and bowl movement, he needed urinary tube for his urination, his stool was too dry to excrete out;
- His daily activity was poor, he needed other to feed him;
- He suffered from postural hypotension obviously;
- His right side sensation level was on the top of his anterior superior iliac spine whilst his left side sensation level was on the top of 2cm above his knee joint.

He received 2nd round stem cell treatment in December, 2008.

Before 2nd round stem cell treatment:
- The motor ability of his lower limbs is improved obviously, he can stand and walk by brace assistant, he can sit stably;
- He can perceive and control his urination and bowl movement, he can urinate by himself, his stool is easy to be excreted out;
- His daily activity ability is enhanced obviously;
- The postural hypotension is improved obviously;
- His right side sensation is beneath his groin, his left side sensation is beneath his knee joint.
