AngAng – Spastic Cerebral Palsy (China) September 6th, 2011

Diagnosis: Spastic Cerebral Palsy

AngAng, one- year-old male, was diagnosed as Spastic Cerebral Palsy. The chief complaint for his admission was the retardation in his speech and motor functions for one year. On May 5th, 2011, he had the MRI scan of the head in the Nanyang Hospital in Henan Province, which showed that 1) dysplasia of white matter of brain. 2) dysplasia of corpus callosum-a little thinner than normal.

AngAng received his first course stem cell transplantation in our hospital on September 6th, 2011.

The Main Condition before the Admission:
The chief complaint on the motor dysfunction:
-He could sit but with the support from both hands due to the weak muscle strength of his waist whilst his waist could not be straight and upright;
-He could roll over in-continuity but not flexibly;
-He had no awareness to crawl forward when lying on his stomach;
-He could not stretch out and bend his both lower limbs;
-He could not sit on the stool;
-He could lean against the wall for only seconds with unsteady and bad balanced ability;
-He had no awareness to move forward when leaning against the wall.

The Condition after the First Course:
-The muscle strength of his waist is increased obviously;
-He can sit steadily by himself without two hands’ support;
-He can grab the pen in his hand;
-He can roll over on bed in-continuity and flexibly;
-He has awareness to crawl forward when lying on his stomach;
-He has awareness to move forward when leaning against the wall;
-He can stand against the wall successfully by his own.
